ISLAMABAD: Travelling through public transport has become a painful exercise especially for women commuters in the federal capital.
The bizarre behaviors of drivers and conductors cause nuisance for working women commuters. There are some families who do not allow their daughters, sisters and wives to travel through public transport because due to a number of problems being confronted by the women commuters.
Saima, a working woman who has to travel daily from Rawalpindi Saddar to Islamabad using public transport told that every day, getting a van in the morning and reaching the office on time is no doubt a challenge for me.
Aalia, another commuter, complained that females have to wait for a long time at peak hours because only front seats are reserved for females in a wagon.
She demanded the concerned authorities to establish different complaint cells near local bus stops.
