Police register 9 aerial firing cases on by-elections

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar police in connection with aerial firing registered nine different cases at five police stations and recovered arms and ammunition from the violators.

According to Police, the other day after peaceful by-elections in Peshawar some of the enthusiastic workers and sympathizers of Awami National Party despite pre-warning of the police resorted to aerial firing by taking the law into their hands to celebrate their leader’s victory.

The police, deputed everywhere to meet any emergency situation, promptly reacted to the incidents and arrested 9 persons involved in aerial firing and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.

In this connection 9 different cases were registered at five police stations of Peshawar and four Klashnikoves, one rifle, four pistols and huge quantity of cartridges were recovered.

The cases were registered three each in East Cantonment area and Faqir Abad police stations and one each at Phando, Hashtnagri and Shah Qabool police stations.
