Pakistan focusing on trade, economic ties with Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD: Defence analyst Dr. Zafar Nawaz Jaspal has said that Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s visit to Pakistan is very important as a new set-up will come in Afghanistan after the withdrawal of NATO forces from his country.

Talking to Radio Pakistan, he added that Pakistan was also focusing on trade and economic relations with Afghanistan.

He maintained that Indian presence in Afghanistan and some mischievous elements in the disguise of Afghan refugees inside Pakistan were a matter of great concern for Pakistand.

He said Karzai’s visit would be helpful in building trust between the two countries.

Prominent political analyst Professor Muhammad Khan has opined that the visit of Afghan President had taken place after thorough deliberations.

He said a stable Afghanistan was an important part of the foreign policy of Pakistan. He added that Pakistan wanted peace and stability in Afghanistan.

He maintained that Islamabad wanted expansion of trade and economic relations with Kabul.
