PESHAWAR: The Meteorological Department on Friday forecast rain-thundershowers at scattered places in Malakand and Hazara divisions of Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during next 24 hours as temperature dropped in Dir and Swat districts after receiving moderate rain Thursday night.
According to Met Office Spokesman here, scattered rain in Malakand, Hazara, Islamabad/Rawalpindi and Gunjranwala division is predicted due to seasonal low lies over Northeast Balochistan and adjoining areas.
The monsoon currents from the Arabian sea are also penetrating into central and upper parts of the country whereas westerly wave is also prevailing over upper parts of the country.
In next 24 hours, mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country, however, scattered rain-thundershower is also expected in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir while at isolated places of Bannu, Kohat, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Zhob and Kalat divisions.Abbottad, Bannu, Peshawar, Parachinar and Kohat are likely to receive rain during this period.
Mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country.
However, scattered rain-thundershower is expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Malakand, Hazara divisions, while at isolated places of Bannu, Kohat, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Zhob and Kalat divisions in next 48 hours.
Isolated rain-thundershower occurred in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Peshawar, Malakand, Hazara, divisions and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in last 24 hours while weather remained hot and humid in other parts of the country.
The maximum rain was received by Islamabad (Saidpur 31, Z.P. 30, Golra 8, Bokra 1mm), Gujranwala 25mm, Dir 24, Zhob 20, Parachinar 16, Rawalpindi (Chaklala 14, Shamsabad 6), Gilgit 12, Gujrat, Kalam 7, Malamjabba 6, Rawalakot 5, Kotli, Lower Dir, Hunza, Bunji 4, Balakot, Pattan 3, Murree, Muzaffarabad 2 mm respectively.
The maximum temperature was recorded at Dalbandin 43 degree C and Nokkundi 42 degree C whereas pollen count yesterday remained 84 per m3 of air.
