KARACHI: Hearing of the Karachi law and order implementation case has been adjourned till September 18, media reports on Thursday.
Earlier, a five member larger bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry comprising Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja‚ Justice Gulzar Ahmed‚ Justice Muhammad Ather Saeed and Justice Azmat Saeed is hearing the case.
During the hearing the CJ asked ‘Where the weapons come to Karachi from?’
He also said that federal government must cooperate with the provincial government for restoration of peace in Karachi.
Before the hearing, Bena Khalid- wife of a missing man named Khalid- staged a sit-in outside the Karachi Registry. The CJ took notice of the protest and ordered the concerned authorities to solve her case.
Yesterday, the court had expressed dissatisfaction over report submitted by IG and Chief Secretary Sindh.
