ISLAMABAD: A total of 197 people have so far died and 1,116 sustained injuries in recent flash floods in the country, says data released by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Thursday.
In Punjab, 71 people have been reported dead and 1010 sustained injuries, 24 expired and 26 injured in Khyber Pakhtunkhaw (KPK), 44 people have died and 40 injured in Sindh, 18 dead and 17 injured in Balochistan, 15 dead and 11 injured in FATA and 25 people have died and 12 sustained injuries in flash flooding in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
As many as 1,310,140 people have been affected in country due to flooding including 762,913 in Punjab, 584 in Khyber Pakhtunkhaw, 482,373 in Sindh and 64,270 have been affected by floods in Balochistan,
Standing crops at 1,225,262.25 acres have been affected in the country including 937,869 acres at Punjab, 535 acres crops of KP, 222,813 acre crops in Sindh, 63,969 acre crops in Balochistan, 76.25 acre crops have been affected in FATA.
As many as 5,334 villages including 2,245 in Punjab, 2 in KP, 2,745 in Sindh and 342 villages of Balochistan have been affected with the flash flooding.
And 37,646 houses have been damaged partially and 17,768 completely as a result of floods. In Punjab 17,041 houses damaged partially and 4,254 completely, in KP 507 partially and 287 completely, in Sindh 18,438 partially and 9,800 completely, in Balochistan 1500 partially and 3000 damaged completely, in FATA 127 partially and 60 damaged completely, in AJK 33 houses have been damaged partially and 367 houses have been damaged completely.
A total of 389 relief camps have been providing basic amenities of life to 35,002 marooned people of flood hit areas of the country.
As many as 261 relief camps of Punjab are providing basic amenities to 9,824 marooned people, 20,678 people are being provided with basic amenities of life in 124 relief camps established in Sindh and 4,500 persons are being provided relief in four camps.
Moreover, 4,726 cattle heads have been perished in flood hit areas of the country including 9 in Punjab, 95 in KP, 54 in Sindh, 4,555 in Balochistan and 13 cattle have been perished in AJK.
A total of 55,334 tents have so far been distributed in flood hit areas by NDMA and PDMA’s including 23,602 in Punjab, 3,440 in KP, 10,185 in Sindh, 2,930 in Balochistan, and 177 tents have so far been distributed in Azad Jammu Kashmir.
As many as 123,350 food packs have also been distributed in flood hit areas including 106,100 in Punjab, 12,650 in KP, 1,500 in Sindh and 2,950 food packs have been distributed among the marooned people in Balochistan.
As many as 16,767 blankets have so far been distributed among the flood hit peoples including 16,400 among KP victims, 300 in Balochistan, and 67 blankets have been distributed among flood hit people of AJK.
27,100 mosquito nets have been distributed in flood hit areas. 8000 mosquito nets have been distributed among flood hit people of Punjab, 6100 among Sindh people and 5,000 mosquito nets have been distributed among Balochistan flood victims.
