LAHORE: During the blessed month of Ramadan Punjab government would focus on providing basic food items at declared subsidised rates,especially at the Ramadan bazaars.
Provincial food minister, Bilal Yassen said that sugar would be available at two rupees less per kg,while ten kg Atta bag would be sold at Rs 315 as opposed to Rs 335 in the open market.
Twenty kg wheat bag would be sold for Rs 670 per kg. Besides giving overall subsidy of Rs 4 billion on food items during Ramadan the government would also ensure provision of all basic food items in required quantity as well as quality, stated a hand out Wednesday.
Food minister warned of strict action against all violators found guilty of selling items at higher rates.
