PPP Senator calls for joint efforts to improve law & order in Lyari

KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Dr. Karim Ahmed Khawaja has said all stakeholders will have to play a positive role for improving law and order situation in Lyari.

Speaking at a ceremony of handing over of five computers to Press Club Tando Muhammad Khan on Monday, he said Kachhi community has the same right to live in Lyari as other communities.

The Senator said that Sindh Government would be stronger if the MQM  joins the provincial government as it would help improve law and order situation.

Supreme Court’s directive to hold Local Government elections is the best development, he said. However, he added, if more time is given to the province, it would produce better results.

He said that the PPP-led government has constructed hospital building for the people of Tando Muhammad Khan at the cost of Rs.700 million, and the staff for the hospital would be hired.

President Press Club Ghulam Nabi Keriyo, President of Union of Journalists Abdul Karim Shaikh and President of Electronic Media Association Shahzad Ali were also present.
