Kalar Kahar bus accident kills 12, injures 28

RAWALPINDI: At least 12 people were killed and 28 others injured when their passenger bus that went out of control after its brakes failed, plunged into a deep gorge in Salt Range near Kalar Kahar, media reported Saturday.

According to local media, a passenger bus was on its way from Rawalpindi to Faisalabad when driver of the bus lost its brake control on Chakwal Motorway between Salt Range-224 and 225 near Kalar Kahar and the bus plunged into a deep ditch.

According to Station House Officer (SHO), Kalar Kahar Police Station, Muhammad Anwar, the incident took place due to brake fail, which resulted killing of 12 passengers and injuring 28. Some injured passengers are told in the critical situation. 6 dead bodies were shifted to Bhera DHQ and 6 to Chakwal DHQ.

A crane was used to pull back the ill-fated bus.  16injured were shifted DHQ Chakwal and 10 in Bhera hospital, where they are being given medical treatment. Two serous injured passengers were also shifted to Rawalpindi for better medical treatment.
