FAISALABAD: At least thirty shops were burnt after an oil market caught fire in the city, media reports on Wednesday.
According to rescue sources, the incident took place in wee hours last night when fire broke out in a godown of the oil market located in Karkhana Bazar.
Ten fire brigades reached the site of the incident and extinguished the fire after three-hour long struggle.
On the other hand, the people living in the surroundings of the oil markets demanded shifting the markets out of the residential areas as they can be affected any time.
Rescue sources said that initial probe report suggested that the incident occurred due to a short circuit.
