Raza Rabbani vows to support govt on Balochistan issue

QUETTA: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) central leader Senator Raza Rabbani said on Wednesday that PPP would support government in its efforts to bring normalcy in Balochistan.

Besides every effort to upholding, the supremacy of parliament would be endorsed.

He was talking to media along with Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik Baloch at CM Secretariat here.

Rabbani while expressing grief over the attack on Quaid Residency Ziarat and Quetta carnage stressed the need for bringing culprits behind the bar.

Reposing his confidence in the NP led coalition government in Balochistan, he hoped that new leadership would take concrete steps for the solution of Balochistan issue.

“Dr Malik who represents middle class of the society believes in the democratic solution to the problems of Balochistan which is indeed a hope for positive change in days to come,” senator said.

Rabbani recalled that PPP led government took numerous steps including Aghaze Haqooqe Balochistan package and provincial autonomy through 18th amendment in the Constitution to remove the grievances of Balochistan’s people.

It was 18th amendment which empowered provinces on 50 percent shares of their natural resources against the past practice when federation would get 100 percent share on province’s resources.

He hailed the statement of Interior minister Choudhry Nisar on Balochistan regarding control over security forces as saying forces should work under the guidance of provincial government.
