ISLAMABAD: For giving a final shape to the government’s energy policy, a high level meeting on the energy crisis will be presided by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday here, media reported.
According to the Federal Information Minister, Senator Pervez Rasheed, the government was taking some tangible steps for ending the load shedding and the Friday meeting fine-tuning and giving a final shape to the short, middle and long terms policies would approve it.
The ministry of water and power and other stakeholders in a meeting presided over by the prime minister had briefed the PM about the solar energy projects in collaboration with the foreign companies besides different projects relating to the generation of electricity by coal was also mulled over.
The only and immediate solution to energy crisis was to increase power generation by alternative sources. He also directed the ministry of water and power to reduce the line losses and recover the long outstanding amounts of electricity bills against the provinces and some major organizations, said the prime minister while addressing the meeting.
