ISLAMABAD: The Interior ministry had extended the expiration date of old passports by issuing them with stamps instead of using lamination papers, a method that is now being rejected by foreign embassies, media reported.
Embassies, rejected passports without lamination. They said that the stamped passport will not be considered.
The decision has forced people to apply for a new passport once again, without having another choice.
The delay in the renewal and issuance of passports because of the shortage of lamination papers has created problems for people looking to travel to other countries.
The decision of issuing old passports with stamps instead of having them laminated is being attributed to former interior minister Rehman Malik.
