MPA terms budget people’s friendly, welcomes Qarz e Hasna scheme

PESHAWAR: Member Provincial Assembly (MPA), Rashad Khan Thursday termed the federal budget 2013 as pro poor, peoples friendly and export-oriented that would help bolster economic and trade activities besides attracting foreign investment in the country.

“In the prevailing difficult situation, Pakistan Muslim League-N has presented a balanced and goal-oriented budget that will strengthen economy of the country besides generating business activities and attracting foreign investment,” PML-N leader and MPA Rashad Khan told APP.

He said maximum relief was provided to low income groups and middle class in the budget. He also welcomed ten percent increase in pension of the retired employees and expressed the hope that Government employees would get relief in next budget.

Rashad Khan said that for the sake of criticism should be avoided and those, who are criticizing budget today should first go through budget document.

He also welcomed establishment of industrial zones in all provinces of the country.

He said PML-N had presented a solid strategy and plan to overcome energy crisis, adding more allocation in water and power sectors in the budget was aimed at provision of cheaper electricity to people and the poor would be the main beneficiary of the initiative.

Khan said an allocation of Rs 225 billion for energy projects would not only help ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity but would also give boost to economic and trade activities in the country.

He said a clear programme on energy has been reflected in the budget that would help overcome problem of load shedding on permanent basis.

He said there could not be a better budget than this within a short period and the whole credit goes to Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar for presenting such a blanched and goal oriented budget.

Khan said, PML-N leadership believed in practical works and uniformed services to masses, adding no false promises have been made to masses and rather pragmatic steps have been promised by the government to strengthen economy and improve the socio-economic condition of poor strata.

“The government has focused youth in the budget and several good steps have been announced for their economic empowerment,” he added.

The Government has allocated Rs 5 billion for launching of ‘Qarz e Hasna’ scheme in the budget to facilitate youth to establish their own business. He said youth would be able to get Rs.5 lakh loan and 10,000 monthly stipends besides extensive vocational and job training in a Govt institution.

The PML-N leader said demands of housing were increasing with each passing day keeping in view the ever growing population. He said the Government has presented a solid programme in the budget for fulfilling the housing demands of masses, adding construction of1000 residential colonies, each colony comprises of 500 houses, across the country would certainly help provide qualities accommodation facilities to the Govt employees and low income groups.

The PML-N leader said the Government has accorded high priority to communication sector as it was directly linked to the economic  prosperity of a nation. In addition to roads projects, construction of Gawadar Expressway and rail linkage from Gawadar to Afghanistan would bring foreign investment and will turned the country into an economic hub.
