FPCCI felicitates Nawaz Sharif, welcomes austerity drive

KARACHI:  Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has felicitated the newly elected Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and welcomed his address to the nation.

Acting President FPCCI, Azhar Saeed Butt, in a statement issued here on Wednesday, said trade and industrial community of the country has high expectations from the newly elected Government under the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

Sharif is a seasoned politician who had also served the country earlier as Prime Minister for two times. He will deliver up to the expectations of the nation especially to give a boost to economy of the country, Azhar Butt said.

He said Prime Minister’s address to the National Assembly was based on facts and he mentioned the daunting tasks and challenges ahead for his Government to rescue the battered economy and massive internal and external debts to be paid by his Government.

He further hoped that Muhammad Nawaz Sharif having a vast experience of running the economy and his entrepreneurial background would be able to give quick shots to the ailing economy.

He appreciated Nawaz Sharif’s statement to curtail the Prime Minister House’s luxuries and other similar non-development expenses.

He hoped that Muhammad Nawaz Sharif would soon start an austerity drive, beginning from Islamabad, revive the industry, overcome energy crisis, manage debt servicing and generate new resources of revenue to run the government.
