FAISALABAD: Another two children died of measles in Allied Hospital Faisalabad, raising the death toll in this teaching hospital to 39.
The hospital sources told that 2-year-old Muhammad Sohail of Chak No.435-RB Gojra, district Toba Tek Singh and 10-year-old Huzaifa daughter of Aamir resident of Lalian district Chiniot lost their lives.
Additional Medical Superintendent (AMS) Allied Hospital Dr. Anees Subhani told APP that three new measles-hit children were admitted in the hospital on Wednesday.
He told that at present, 18 measles-hit children were being treated in isolation ward, 9 in children ward whereas two children were kept in the emergency.
Meanwhile, Dr. Arif Ali Medical Superintendent (MS) DHQ Hospital told that as many as 548 children were brought in measles OPD so far and out of them 334 were admitted in the hospital where 9 had lost their lives. At present 14 children are being provided treatment against measles in the DHQ hospital, he added.
