‘No political gains’ from Information Ministry’s secret fund, vows Rasheed

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister Senator Pervez Rasheed, who is expected to be given the portfolio of the Information and Broadcasting, said Friday that the ministry’s secret funds would not be used for personal or political gains.

Speaking to reporters soon after taking oath as federal minister at the Presidency, the newly sworn-in minister said the government would not conceal facts from the masses and assured complete transparency in running of the Information Ministry.

Rasheed said the PML-N government in Punjab had earlier got the ‘Access to Information’ law passed by the provincial assembly and said there was no reason the same would not be done at the federal level in future.

He said the people despite tremendous difficulties appreciated things if they were taken into confidence and they were aware that the national resources were being spent judiciously.
