Musharraf’s response to court in treason case hearing

ISLAMABAD: Former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf on Monday resubmitted his reply in the apex court regarding the treason case.

A two-member bench of the court consisting of Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, was hearing the case seeking Musharraf’s trial under Article 6 of the Constitution for imposing a state of emergency in 2007.

During the hearing, the bench expressed its disliking over the absence of a representative for the federal government and summoned secretary law.

Moreover today, A K Dogar, counsel for petitioner, Maulvi Iqbal Haider, began his arguments in the case.

Earlier last, the court had rejected a request seeking the arrest of the former military ruler.
