JI demands interim government to call All Parties Conference

PESHAWAR: The Jamaat e Islami (JI) chief Syed Munawar Hassan demanded the interim prime minister to call an all parties conference in order to curb the growing terrorism in the county, on Wednesday. He also strongly opposed any kind of delay in the coming general elections.

While speaking in a party gathering in Peshawar he emphasized that its the prime responsibility of the caretaker set up to call the meeting which should be attended by all the parties along with security agencies.

Furthermore he sternly criticized the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as it did not abide by the Supreme Court’s orders and did not delimit Karachi under the pressure of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

He also claimed that ANP was responsible for the current situation. “Military operations, large-scale human displacement and drone attacks were the ANP’s manifesto during its rule.”

He also claimed former president Pervez Musharraf, in addition to killing Akbar Bugti, had caused the deaths of innocent children during the Lal Masjid incident and violated the constitution twice.
