ECP should reject Musharraf’s nomination papers: Ahsan

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Secretary General Pakistan Muslim League-N Ahsan Iqbal on Wednesday urged Election Commission of Pakistan to reject nomination papers of General (retd) Pervez Musharraf as he alleged that he breached Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution. In a statement, he said it was very heartening to see that Supreme Court and Election Commission were taking stern action against fake degree holders. He suggested that they should not ignore the dictator who violated the Constitution.
Ahsan said that Supreme Court had already given historic verdict against the November 3, 2007 emergency imposed by Pervez Musharraf and declared it an extra constitutional act.
He said the PPP government did not proceed against Musharraf due to NRO arrangement so he suggested that the judiciary should now take suo moto action against dictator who violated the Constitution, judiciary, media, and Parliament.
He claimed that PML-Nawaz’s programme for a strong economy had been declared the best economic programme and their economic team was the most competent and credible.
He urged the people to elect the PML-N with clear majority so that economic reforms could be brought in the country.
