Talal Bugti to contest general election

QUETTA: The chief of his own faction of Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) and the son of late veteran Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti, Talal Bugti has announced that his party would contest general elections 2013.

After his meeting with the Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan Ishtiaq Ahmed here on Friday, he addressed media persons. He said Secretary Election Commission has assured me that reservations of JWP regarding general elections and others would be removed and therefore, my party decided to go to contest general elections.

He said that his party would also keep the option of boycotting elections in view if their reservations were not resolved. He demanded role of the government and authorities for peaceful repatriation of Bugti family and internally displaced people of Bugti tribe to Dera Bugti.

He also emphasized the need to ensure conducting of free, fair and transparent general elections. Secretary ECP said that talks with Mr. Talal Bugti remained fruitful and Bugti agreed to go in elections. Member ECP Justice (retd) Fazlur Rehman was also present on this occasion.
