Journalists, opinion-leaders and masses spoke loud on social media over Indian media reports that Bilawal fled to Dubai after having a ‘tiff’ with president Zardari.
Press Trust of India reported:
“Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has left for Dubai after a tiff with his father, President Asif Ali Zardari, over the affairs of the PPP, leaving the party without its star campaigner for Pakistan’s general election.”
The leading Indian media further stated:
“Bilawal, recently named patron-in-chief of the Pakistan People’s Party, developed differences with Zardari and his sister, Faryal Talpur, over the party’s handling of key issues, including militant violence, sectarian attacks against Shias and the award of party tickets for the polls scheduled for May 11.”
Bilawal is quoted saying that matters got so heated on one occasion that a source quoted Bilawal as saying: “If I had to vote, even I wouldn’t vote for the PPP.”
Leading journalists initially denied the report. Later seemed to buy into the new.
Nadeem F.Paracha tweeted: ” Good decision! He should only return when the party recovers its lost bearings.”
“Why BILAWAL left Pakistan? PPP must Clarify!” stated another renowned journalist Dr Shahid Masood.
Meanwhile, a source told media that Bilawal, who turns 25 this September and will be of eligible age to contest elections by the time of the by-elections, has decided not to take part in even the by-polls.
