KARACHI: One of the three buildings which were affected in the twin blasts of Abbas Town on Sunday has been declared dangerous, it needs to be completely demolished and re-constructed.
The two other Abbas Town blasts-hit buildings are required to be repaired under the supervision of experts. This was stated in a report on Tuesday prepared by Technical Committee of Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) for dangerous buildings led by its Secretary Ashkar Dawar which held detailed inspection of the affected buildings.
The report has also been submitted to the Director General, SBCA Manzoor Qadir.The report said the basic RCC structure of the four-storeyed building of Iqra City phase-I’s block-D which affected in Abbas Town blasts has been damaged to a large extent and it needs to be completely erased and re-erected.
The report said the structure of the second building of Iqra City’s block-E has also been affected which needs repair.
It said half of the structure of Rabia Flower’s block: A-3 building has been affected to a larger extent which also needs repair work.
The SBCA’s Technical body has advised that the construction and repair work of the blasts-hit buildings be carried out under the supervision of licensed construction consultants.
The committee has also warned the people to stay away from the blasts-affected buildings and do not enter or pass by the same.
