People of Sindh united at platform of MQM: Dr. Sattar

KARACHI:  Deputy Convener Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Rabita Committee, Dr. Farooq Sattar  has said that some elements intend to divide the vote bank of MQM “but we want to make it clear to those forces that the people of Sindh including Karachi are united under the leadership of MQM chief Altaf Hussain at the platform of his party.”

He was addressing a press conference after the Quran khawani and Fateha held for the victims of Abbas Town blasts at Lal Qila Ground, Azizabad here Monday.

He said the people of Sindh are more united and organized than in the past, at the platform of MQM.

Dr. Farooq Sattar also called for taking strict action against the culprits involved in Abbas Town blasts. Earlier, Quran khawani and Fateha was organised by the MQM at Lal Qila Ground Azizabad for the victims of Abbas Town blasts and `Dua’ was also offered for recovery of the injured. Dr. Sattar  said according to latest reports, the death toll of the Abbas Town incident has reached  48 and dozens are injured.

He expressed gratitude to the people for observing day of mourning on Monday in solidarity with the affectees of Abbas Town blasts.

He also announced that his party  chief Altaf Hussain has decided to cancel the programmes for celebration of birthday of his daughter, Ms. Afsa Altaf which was scheduled to be held on March 5.

In the end, Dr. Farooq Sattar sympathised with the bereaved families of the Abbas Town blasts victims and prayed for quick recovery of the injured.
