Government offices in Pakistan will no longer have an off on Saturdays from now on.
The order was issued by Finance Minister Saleem Mandviwalla on Friday.
A similar decision had been approved by former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in 2010.
In the past, the government had announced two weekly holidays for public offices after announcing a wide-ranging strategy aimed at conserving and generating more electricity to minimise a widening gap between demand and supply.
In 2012, the government had decided to table an energy saving plan comprising two holidays a week, closure of shops at 8 pm, advancing clocks by one hour and turning off street lights at night.
