Karachi: Principal killed, students injured in hand-grenade attack

KARACHI: The owner of a private school was killed and several students were injured in a hand grenade attack near Ittehad Town of Baldia town, Karachi here Saturday.

Sources said that, the school belongs to a member of Awami National Party (ANP) identified as Abdur Rasheed, was receiving threat since last 6 months.

The deceased Abdur Rasheed was the president of ANP-west wing. Another member of ANP, Abdul Wahid was also injured, said a party spokesperson.

Following the blast firing was also reported which created panic subsequently several students were wounded. The attack occurred while a prize distribution ceremony was underway at the school.

All the injured were rushed to the Civil hospital.

Police sources said that, the incident could be a result of targeted killing.
