Karachi: SHC to hear MQM’s delimitation petition


KARACHI: Irked Muttahida Qaumi Movement has filed a petition against the delimitation of Karachi termed it an ‘unlawful act’ against it’s vote bank, reported AAJ news here Monday.

MQM”s deputy convener Farooq Sattar submitted the petition with his lawyer Faroogh Naseem today’s morning. The court accepted the plea and decided to hear it immediately.

Farooq Sattar in his petition seeking court’s intervention has prayed for a stay order against delimitation.

Previously in a statement, MQM’s chief Altaf Hussain condemned the delimitation of Karachi constituencies said it as illegal and announced that his party would challenge the move in the courts.

He demanded of the Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ibrahim to immediately withdraw the notification regarding the delimitations which he said was a conspiracy to steal MQM’s mandate.
