Indo-Pak relationship requires extensive, intensive management: Khar

Islamabad: Even as India fumes over its neighboring country Pakistan about increasing rates of peace violation, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Hina Rabbani Khar on Thursday said the priority of Pakistan’s foreign policy in the past five years had been to create a peaceful and stable regional environment.

She stated that people of the region could focus on internal growth and stability rather than border disputes. Khar also added that the lack of trust with India had been a hurdle in achieving this goal.

She said Pakistan wants a resolution of all disputes with India including the Kashmir dispute, and during the last five years the 66-year old policy regarding India was changed and Confidence Building Measures were implemented.

Khar added that time had proved that war was not a solution to the hostilities between the nuclear-armed rivals. It was, therefore, time to give trust a chance.
