Egypt’s President Morsi to visit Pakistan on March 18

ISLAMABAD: Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi will be making a state visit to Pakistan on March 18 on an invitation extended by President Asif Ali Zardari, the Foreign Office said.

President Morsi will be the first democratically-elected president of Egypt to visit Pakistan. The last visit of an Egyptian president to Pakistan was made by the late Gamal Abdel Nasser in the 1960s.

President Morsi’s engagements would include a one-on-one meeting with President Zardari as well as delegation level talks.

The two leaders are expected to hold extensive discussions on all areas of bilateral relations, including regional and international issues of mutual interest. They are also expected to sign a number of agreements.
