Disney to re-create classic Beauty and the Beast


Hollywood Studio Disney is embarking on a mission of re-creating the classic fable ‘Beauty and the Beast’ as a live- action movie in 3D.

According to sources the new project for the Mouse House will be penned by ‘ Trance’ writer and director Joe Ahearne who is also been responsible for writing cult vampire series ‘Ultraviolet’, as well as directing David Tennant several times in ‘Doctor Who’ which helped him earn a Bafta nomination.

The film will be released as the ‘ The Beast’, and will follow a slew of fairy-tale based excursions around Hollywood.

‘Red Riding Hood’, ‘Mirror Mirror’, ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters’ and ‘Jack The Giant Slayer’ and not to forget Disney’s fairy tale Oz: ‘The Great and Powerful’ are a few Disney’s re-made classics which earned over a billion dollars worldwide.
