Bikers not to use face-cover helmets: police

KARACHI: Sindh police has decided to ban motorcycle helmets with face-cover in Karachi, as in many crime such helmets are being used which help criminals to hide their identity.

In a high-level meeting at Central Police Office, Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Shabbir Shaikh instructed that citizens and shopkeepers should be taken into confidence in this regard and after launching a public awareness campaign the use of helmets with face cover should be banned.

It was also decided to take action against vehicles using fancy registration plates, AFR registration plates, tinted glasses and blue light hooters. It was also decided to set up special teams at zonal DIG level to work on the cases of target killings so that accused could be arrested.
