PESHAWAR: Atleast 13 people including women and five children were wounded in a road accident occurred in Matni, Peshawar on Wednesday.
Sources said that, ‘the van was en route to Peshawar from Tirah valley turned down when the driver lost its control due to over speed’.
The injured were rushed to Matni hospital for the treatment but due to insufficient doctors they were shifted to Lady riding hospital.
Doctors said that some of the injured are critical including a child. While few of them were released after first aid.
Road accidents are common in Pakistan because of poor infrastructure and routine disregard of traffic laws.
On February 23, a bus carrying a wedding party plunged into a canal in the northwestern city of Peshawar, killing 17 people.
Most among the dead were women and children, and authorities at the time had said the driver’s negligence caused the tragedy.
