OGRA case: NAB directed to draft references against Malik, Badar


ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has directed to prepare reference against those who helped Tauqir Sadiq in escape the country, reported Aaj news.

The Supreme Court gave a week’s time to NAB to file references against people responsible for appointing Sadiq and giving him protection.

NAB informed a two-member bench of the Supreme Court that Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf had approved Sadiq’s appointment.

Th apex court begun hearing of the Oil and Gas Regulation Authority (Ogra) in Islamabad. The bench proceeding the case showed outrage on the non-arrest of Tauqir Sadiq.

Justice Jawwad S Khawaja showed non-satisfaction over the concern that the police had arrested Sadiq but released him lately.

Formerly, SC had ordered the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to conduct an investigation in cases of corruption against Tauqir Sadiq after declaring his appointment as the chairman of Ogra as illegal on Nov 25, 2011.
