SC takes up Kamran Faisal death case

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has began the proceedings into death case of NAB investigating officer, Kamran Faisal, reported Aaj news here Thursday.

The court today issued notices to concerned authorities including NAB chairman Fasih Bukhari, IG Islamabad and others.

The apex court also ordered to produce the record of laptop, phone calls until January 26, CCTV footage of NAB’s meeting of January 17 and details of visitors of the victims.

Court also asked people to assist the hearing carrying any details about the victim, Kamran Faisal.

The case hearing later adjourned until January 28 (Monday).

Faisal, who was investigating the rental power plants scam, involving the prime minister, was found hanging from the ceiling of his hostel room on Friday.

Though an autopsy report ruled his death a suicide, the deceased’s family and colleagues disputed the findings and called for a judicial probe.

Yesterday, the court formed a two-member bench to hear the case separately from the rental power scam.
