Shahzeb Khan case: SC orders to freeze suspect’s property, bank accounts

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme ordered to freeze all the property and bank accounts of suspects in Shahzeb Khan’s murder case, and to cancel their passports, reported Aaj News.

The Court has began the hearing of Sou moto case against the murder of Shahzeb Khan here Friday.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry began proceedings for the case in which a 20-year-old son of DSP Aurangzeb Khan was killed on December 24, 2012.

As the proceedings began today, Additional IG Sindh informed the court that IG Fayyaz Laghari unable to appear today due to a flight delay.

Upon which displeased CJP said  that ” We know influential people are standing in the way of the investigation”.

Earlier, IG was given a deadline to appear before the apex court until 12pm today.

Following the absence, CJP ordered to arrest accused Shahrukh Jatoi until evening today, otherwise IG will have to lose his office.

The court warned IG Sindh to arrest the murderers else appear before the court without uniform on Monday.

Later the hearing was adjourned till January 7 (Monday).

Previously, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali shah and Governor Ishrat ul Ibad Khan ordered the police to arrest the accused within five days.
