‘Rising Karachi’ programme largely acclaimed: Hussain

KARACHI: KMC Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed has said that positive results under “Rising Karachi” programme for information availability to citizens about implementation on municipal projects and other matters have been achieved and also appreciated by the citizens.

He said the availability of valuable information on mobile phones would be streamlined which would provide citizens with various facilities and important information.

He said this while addressing a meeting with Project Director of “Rising Karachi” programme Abdul Nasir, Senior Director Information Technology Masood Alam and other officials, said a statement issued here on Monday evening.

The Administrator Karachi said that information technology was being used for positive and constructive objectives.

Municipal facilities in all big cities were also provided with the help of information technology which have enhanced the performance of municipal departments, he said.

He commented that mobile phones were very common now and everyone was availing this modern technology.

He viewed that the use of internet on mobile phones which is now very familiar is also being tapped as source of communication under Rising Karachi Programme.

The citizens were not only provided with the information of development projects but details regarding health, education, traffic, vaccination programme for children, spray campaign and different incidents were provided as well, he added.

The Administrator said the citizens could also lodge their complaints by phones.

He said Karachi is mini-Pakistan and it has the status of backbone of the country’s economy and this city had lots of specialties. The citizens have a big share in the development of this country.

Karachi like other metropolitan cities of the world is also being modernized with newer facilities.

He said Rising Karachi Programme of I.T Department was very beneficial for citizens and everyone could easily avail the facility by registering only once.
