Qadri Long march to start Sunday; invites PTI to join


LAHORE, Jan 12 : Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran (TMQ) Chief Tahirul Qadri Saturday said the long march will start from Data Darbar on Sunday and conclude at Imam Bari in Islamabad.

Addressing a press conference here, he said the long march would be held at all costs. He said that no decision would be taken behind closed doors, adding that mere dialogue could not stop the long march.

He said now the talks will be held in Islamabad. He claimed that it will be the second biggest long march after the Chinese long march. Qadri also presented his charter of demands during the press conference.

He stressed that the interim government should be formed after consulting with all the stakeholders and made it clear that election results would not be accepted if it were not held under Articles 62, 63, 68 and 218 of the Constitution. He also invited the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to join the long march as it was the last opportunity for the nation. He again invited PTI Chairman Imran Khan to take part in the long march as his party was also raising the slogan of change.

He said “My charter of demand to be presented in Islamabad consists of seven points and I will unveil only three and the remaining four would be announced on January 14.” He said the other points are related to the electoral reforms.
