FAISALABAD: In the buzz-world of sports, something very fresh is in incubation; Its not a match between India Pakistan, nor is it some celebrity wedding a player… Beyond all cliches, news is about an academic episode making progress in the realm of cricket.
This educational move will be instituted by Pakistan’s off spinner Saeed Ajmal in University Of Agriculture Faisalabad, (UAF) located in his hometown.
The Academy is worth Rs 70 million, where an initial Rs 30 million will be supplied by Ajmal himself. The Pakistan government has also donated Rs 10 million.
Ajmal has proven talent in cricket bowling and vows to train passionate cricketers looking forward to bringing laurels to the country. He has so far taken 122 Test and 117 one-day wickets, and is also the highest wicket-taker in Twenty20 cricket with 71.
Being a rare attempt of its kind, the academy will serve as a breeding ground for the budding cricketers. It is a surely a delight for young blood who lack opportunities to showcase their precious sports talents.
