HALA (Sindh) Jan 19 : Chief of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Saturday urged the people to make right use of their votes for a positive social and economic change in the country.
Addressing a gathering of United Party workers to celebrate birthday of their leader Shah Muhammad Shah in Hala Town, the PML-N Chief pledged that if his party is elected to power in the coming general elections it shall do the best possible to make Pakistan a model state. PML-N would utilise all available means to bring social and economic reforms in the country aimed at providing a better life to the commonman, he said.
He underlined the need for self-reliance of the country through the best use of our national resources, and sincere and
honest role of every citizen instead of looking for any foreign aid or loans. He expressed his concern over the law and order situation especially in Karachi and said “we would have to work hard day and night to restore the glory and identity of Karachi.”
He criticised the Government for its alleged failures on social and economic fronts. He also urged the review of new Sindh People’s Local Government System and feared that it might create a sense of disparity in certain section of the society. Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif highlighted the contribution of his party in relief and rehabilitation efforts during flood and devastating rains in Sindh in 2010 and 2011. He also mentioned the struggle of his party for the restoration of judiciary which is now performing its duties independently.
“We want equality and justice for every citizen of the country,” he asserted.
PML-N Chief was very critical over the long march and sit-in, in Islamabad and described the way adopted by Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri as un-democratic and un-constitutional.
