One policeman was killed and two others wounded on Saturday in clashes in Port Said after a
court handed down death sentences over Egypt’s deadliest ever football riot that killed more than 70, an official said. Fierce clashes erupted in the canal city between relatives of those sentenced to death and police guarding the prison where those convicted were being held, the security official told AFP.
