LoC tension’s toll on theatre

The Line of Control tensions are now imapcting the theatre. At least 24 Pakistani nationals from the Ajoka Theatre of Lahore are being sent home, barely hours before their performance.

They were at the 15th Theatre Utsav, organised by the National School of Drama. Due to security threats to disrupt the festival, the government had to cancel their performance.

The artists were disconcerted and also suggested that dialogue is the only mode for solving the LoC crisis. Ironically their show was on Sadat Hasan Manto, a shared heritage for both India and Pakistan.
