Grenade attacks destroy three shops, hurt four in Karachi


KARACHI: Three consecutive explosions rocked the central areas of Karachi, destroying three shops and injured four people here on Saturday.

According to our correspondent, In the early hours of Saturday a shop of a local trader in SITE area came under attack when some unknown assailants threw a hand-grenade on his shop destroying three adjacent shops completely.

No casualties were reported in the blast that took place inside a medical store in SITE’s Metroville area.

Police officials said the explosion was carried out using a hand grenade, however, sources in the bomb disposal squad that had examined the site said the explosives had likely been planted.

In another incident, bomb targeted a police van in Mawaach Goth area of Baldia town.

According to Aaj news, a hand grenade was hurled at a police van that injured four personnel.

The third incident took place in Orangi Town area when a remote-controlled bomb containing two to three kilograms of explosives was planted outside the office of a political leader. Three wheel carts were damaged but no casualties were reported.
