Directors, Producers urged to send films to participate in ‘Pak Culture Year’ in Turkey

The Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara is celebrating 2013-2014 as Pakistan Culture Year in Turkey by organizing a host of cultural events where Pakistani film and
documentary producers can send their films for screening.

One such activity is to introduce famous Pakistani films and documentaries to the Turkish audience, said a message received here from Ankara Tuesday.
Twenty-fourth edition of “Ankara International Film Festival” will be held from 14-24 March 2013. It is a useful platform to showcase Pakistani talent in the field of cinema.
Interested Pakistani film/documentary directors/producers who wish to screen their films/documentaries may forward their entries to Mr. G’khan Erkili?, Festival Director, Farabi Sokak No.29/1, Cankaya, Ankara, Tel: 0092 312 468 7745, email, website Press Attache of the Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara Abdul Akbar could also be contacted on email for further coordination.
According to the message entries should reach to the organizers before February 5. The International film festival will include a foreign movie category under the theme ‘Eastern Image’ and 13 subcategories.
Documentaries could also be submitted and shall be screened in the ‘Documentary’ category while Festival organizers would also welcome ‘non-dialogue/silent’ short films.
Format of the movies could be 35 mm film, DVD, or Blu-ray Disc and all material must have English sub-titles.
Publicity materials in electronic and print form should be forwarded to the organizers for inclusion in the event’s publicity campaign.
A select two-member team of director/producer/actor will be offered local accommodation in Ankara by the organizers as well. An exclusive ‘Pakistan Film Week’ will also be organized in
the month of September/October 2013 as part of the programme of Pakistan Culture Year in Turkey.
