ISLAMABAD, Jan 10 (APP): The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Thursday canceled the allotment of residential plots to 109 officers in two residential sectors following the strong protest the CDA Mazdoor Union.
On Wednesday, the Authority had offered residential plots to the officers of BPS-17 to BPS-19 who were entitled to get plots sized 40×80. The plots had been allotted in sectors I-8 and D-12, said a CDA official.
However, just a day after the issuance of offer letters, Chairman CDA Syed Tahir Shahbaz issued a notification canceling the allotment of plots. According to the notification No CDA/D(Staff)2(30)/2013/33, the chairman CDA had constituted a committee to formulate a comprehensive framework for allotment of plots to the staffers of the CDA as per policy in vogue.
It had been clarified that Chairman CDA neither approved nor directed any officer of CDA for allotment of plots to the officers/officials of CDA.
“Any offer letter(s)/allotment(s) issued in this regard is/are of no legal consequence, and may be treated as canceled,” said the notification adding that the matter regarding the allotment of plots will be decided in consultation with the CBA.
According to the official, among the officers who had been allotted plots also included some officer on deputation. However, the issuance of offer letters to officers had stirred a controversy prompting the Union to protest the move and demanded the management to prioritize the low-grade employees who had been
awaiting plots since long.
