ANP terms Qadri’s demands unconstitutional

ISLAMABAD, Jan 17 (APP): President Awami National Party Sindh, Senator Shahi Syed has termed Qadri’s demands unconstitutional, said that the ANP believe in supremacy of constitution and continuation of democratic process in the country.

Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said every change in the country should come through parliament. Condemning the attitude of Dr. Qadri, he asked Dr. Qadri to surrender his Canadian nationality if he was sympathizer of the poor people of Pakistan.
He said Dr. Qadri’s remarks against parliamentarians are unfair.

He said Supreme Court is already hearing the case of electoral reforms, therefore the court should summon Qadri for his submissions regarding reforms in electoral process. Talking to Radio Pakistan, Dr. Huma Baqai, an expert of international affairs also said that Dr. Tahirul Qadri has no political worth and credibility in public, therefore his demands have no legal or constitutional ground.

Rejecting the objection of Dr Qadri on the age of Fakharuddin G Ebrahim, she said his objections are ridiculous as Chief Election Commissioner has been appointed with consensus of treasury and opposition benches. She said the government and the media should not give unnecessary importance to Dr Qadri.
