10/1/2013: A day never to be forgotten

Ke Khoon-E-Sad Hazar Anjum Se Hoti Hai Sahar Paida (Iqbal)
“For the dawn arises from the blood of a hundred thousand stars”

A deadly day for my country, for my countrymen, for the innocents of this land…

Every day I sit and think that this is the worst day for my country, as I see blood, destruction and scattered bodies of my countrymen. Hues and cries of the loved ones and the lost treasures of the blooming gardens as the whole family shatter by the merciless murder of one member. But what I listen and saw on the eve of January 10th, 2013 was extremely horrible as I couldn’t believe that hundreds of my country men were slaughtered for no reason, and we are so helpless that we can’t do anything except watching and waiting for our own turns.

The recent episodes of terrorism in Quetta, Karachi and in Mingora showed once again that life of an ordinary Pakistani is not worthy enough to protect and he does not deserve any security from the so called “care takers” and “leaders” of this nation. January 10th, 2013 was one of the deadliest days for Pakistan as 118 innocent died in Quetta blasts, more than 15 died in violence in Karachi and 22 lost their lives in the blasts in Mingora, Swat.

Lashkar-i-Jhangvi, a militant organization claimed the responsibility of killing the hundreds of defenseless Hazara in Quetta in multiple blasts. The merciless murder of the Hazaras shows that their only fault is that they are “hazaras”. I have a firm believe that the notorious, ignorant and ferocious Lashkar-i-Jhangvi will not attain any heavens and glories by killing these innocent Hazaras, they are not serving Islam in any way nor they are pleasing Allah in any manner, and I believe this as much as I believe in God. Sooner or later, but all these militant and pseudo religious organizations who kill innocent individuals will see the wrath of Allah Almighty.

We all are aware of who is behind the killings of the innocent people in Karachi and the culture of “bori band lashain” is also not something which is hidden from us. Do our rulers feel sympathy for the ones who are left to mourn their dear ones? Why an ordinary Pakistani is not as facilitated and secured as any of the elites of this country? These bunch of looters have not given anything to this nation, rather they are distributing and looting this land as if this is a “chorii ka maal”. Were the dead ones, not the sons and daughters of this land, didn’t they deserve security and safety as any of the elite’s son get? Who is responsible for safeguarding the lives and property of the citizens, if not the state?

My fellow beings, my dear countrymen, you died for no reason, you died because few ignorant and wild groups think that by killing you they will achieve heavens and glory. But alas they don’t know that the time is not far when they will be answerable for their deeds in the world hereafter and the cries of the mourners will not let them live in peace, ever.

In this country, everyday a history is being written by the blood of innocents, by the blood of the ones whom we as nation owe nothing less than our own lives. I am and I will be waiting to see the dawn, as many hundred thousand starts have nurtured this land with their blood and tears.

O’ Allah! forgive us for not speaking for the many unfortunate beings that have been silent by the brutal ones and give us courage to stand by the side of every innocent individual and victims of violence. May Allah guide us all to the right path, give us understanding of your words and give us true honest leaders, make Pakistan a tolerant nation where no one is killed because of his language, religion, caste, creed, race, color, honesty and fairness, amen.
