Firing on buses kill 12 near Pak-Iran border

QUETTA: Some unknown gunmen killed at least 12 people on Friday evening as they attacked a passenger buses near Pak-Iran border, Aaj news reported.

According to the reports, the incident took place in Sansar, a mountainous region near Gawadar port city near Pak-Iran border.

The bus was coming from Sindh province and was heading towards Iran. Reports suggested that the illegal immigrants included Tajiks, Uzbeks and Pakistanis, and they wanted to cross the border through illegal channels when they were fired upon by unknown persons.

When the passenger vehicle reached the Dasht Bishuli area of Makran, the unknown militants stopped it and opened fire at it, killing at least 12 people on the spot and leaving many others injured.

Security forces and rescue teams have been sent to the spot and no further detail are available yet.

On Thursday night, at least five people were killed and six others were injured in an attack on two passenger buses in the Machh area of the Bolan district in the same province.

According to the report, in the past, such activities had been claimed by some ethnic militant groups of Bloch tribes.
