Unique Pakistan & Tangerine Media – The other side of pakistan

Karachi, 16 November 2012: ‘Aisa Bhi Hai Pakistan’, is a 3-day photo exhibition organized by Unique Pakistan and Tangerine Media opened on Friday at Sadequain Art Gallery – Frere Hall, Karachi.

This is the second exhibition being organized to promote varied perspectives of Pakistan via a nationwide photography competition. Out of the 350 entries received from all over Pakistan, and a few international entries, the top 100 are being displayed here over the weekend

This year the scope of the event has been expanded and a model-making competition was also held simultaneously. For this Unique Pakistan collaborated with Beaconhouse School System (BSS), with around 120 Beaconhouse students in Karachi participating in the competition. A total 50 art displays of Pakistani monuments are exhibited as part of this competition.

Noman Minai, founder of Unique Pakistan, said, “I am very pleased to say that Unique Pakistan has grown over the past year and that this time the number of participants as well as people attending the exhibition has grown.

In addition to photography, we have introduced art displays of historical monuments and have plans to organize a grand inter-school art competition next year.

The objective of Unique Pakistan is to Brand Pakistan – Nation Branding is a global subject and everyone’s responsibility. At Unique Pakistan this is our purpose. Small contribution, big vision and a purposeful journey. Our partners, Farhad Karamally (Navitus) and Jibran Jawed from Tangerine Media also believe in the cause and feel that our talent and youthful energies need to be harnessed in the right direction.

This event is a great platform for budding photographers with talent and passion to not only capture the uniqueness in Pakistan but also share it with the world.

He concluded by adding that, “Unique Pakistan is also adopting one wish of a kid through Make a Wish Foundation this year. A patient of Thalesimia Major had a wish to own a painting kit and we are displaying his paintings at the exhibition.”
