Peshawar: Terrorism attempt foiled as police seize 600 kg explosive

PESHAWAR: A major terrorist activity was foiled when police seized a van laden with 600 kilogram of explosives from Ring Road Peshawar on Wednesday evening. With the confiscation of such humongous quantity of explosives, police have destabilized a massive destruction scheme planned by the terrorists.

According to sources, the vehicle, supposedly a van, was carrying 15 sacks of explosives each weighing almost 40 kilograms. Besides the explosives, the van was also carrying almost 8000 detonators which were to be used alongside the explosives to carry out blasts within the month of Muharram. The operation was reportedly carried out by the Yaka Toot police.
