CM Sindh declares emergency within province as record breaking rain hits Jacobabad

KARACHI: Chief Minsiter Sindh Qaim Ali Shah has declared emergency within Sindh province after torrential rains continue within different areas of the province. CM Sindh, on Monday, issued a notification whereby the holidays of of top government officials and health department officials have been cancelled.

CM further instructed the officials to transfer the rain affected individuals to safer places, also providing them with necessary food and shelter.

Meanwhile, countrywide rain continued to cause havoc. Record breaking rain was witnessed within Jacobabad district of Sindh on Monday. According to sources, the rains broke a 100 year old record as 380 mm rain was recorded within Jacobabad.

The weather forecast department has hinted that heavy rains would continue within Sindh province till tomorrow and would later reduce gradually.
